Welcome to the website! My name, as you may have guessed, is David Noël. (Actually, that’s no longer technically true. I got married, and my name is now David Noël-Romas.) I’m an entrepreneur, business consultant, and software developer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This site is mostly a historic artifact at this point, although I may end up writing here again eventually. Please feel free to browse at your leisure, and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or comments.

I’ve been programming since I was about 12 years old, and took my first freelance gig when I was 13. Since then I’ve worked on software in a wide range of sectors and industries: marketing, advertising, construction, travel, and even military (you can read more about specific projects I’ve worked on here). I also have a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, with a few months of grad school experience researching algorithms for antenna measurement software. I co-founded a company called Advolve Media a few years ago, and (as mentioned above) I am a founding partner of Black Chair Consulting which provides consulting and custom software development for small businesses. I have also been pretty heavily involved with a company called SiteDocs to build software that helps companies stay on top of their workplace safety requirements.

When I’m not working, I enjoy brewing beer, playing bass guitar in local bands and spending time with my family and friends. I don’t cycle or run nearly as much as I would like to lately, but I once rode my bicycle across Canada and I still do love cycling, travelling, and being outside.
